In a continued nose-dive, Michele Bachmann's New Hampshire professional campaign staff have quit "en masse . . . out of frustration with the campaign".
The entire paid staff, "roughly about a half dozen", would have quit earlier but for the fact that it "would have harmed the candidate".
It's clear to me that Bachmann has been going nowhere for some time now, but I fail to see how the staff quitting now is any help. I have to expect that they were getting their ducks in a row for a move to follow-on positions, probably in other campaigns. But then, maybe that's just the cynic in me. We'll have to wait and see where they end up, and how soon.
Consider that Huntsman has staked everything on how he does in New Hampshire. Romney is currently the odds-on favourite, having been the governor in next-door Massachusetts. (Bachmann, to be precise, has long been primarily focused in Iowa, with the hope that a win there will invigorate her languishing hopes.)
